Biodiversity
Biodiversity
This is the topic for our new flag. The children are working on this. We want the children to realise the importance of both the very small (insects, fungi) and the very large (whales) in our world. How they all are connected and how if one is disturbed it affects another.
Junior Infants have just built a hedgehog hibernaculum in our school garden. This all helps with our topic of biodiversity. By protecting and looking after our hedgehogs, our slugs will be kept at bay!
The recent themes in the Aistear programme for Junior Infants, Sealife and Habitats, help promote this also. Please have a look at our Green School section on our website. www.rathmichaelschool.com
