Aistear week 28/4/14

It's all about 'school' this week in Aistear!

The children are role-playing school in the home corner, building classrooms out of jaggo blocks and a playground out of lego. They are creating school bags in art and filling their healthy lunch boxes at the exploration table.

We have had a lovely French assembly. This was given by our 5th and 6th classes. They did a great rendition of the Gingerbread Man with lovely French songs to accompany it. We had three children playing guitar also. Great thanks must go to Catherine McGovern who oversaw it all.

 

Aoife Munn from Windyridge Garden Centre came in and planted seeds with classes in the school They went home with small pots which they could enjoy and watch producing plants.

 

The PTA held a cake sale which caused great excitement throughout the school. Homework was baking. Great fun!! All the children got to go and buy during the day.

There’s lots of activity in the school and spirits are high. We look forward to our Active Schools Week. Watch out for our banner.
