Aistear week 27/1/14






This week, the children are making junk art robots/bodies and jaggo block robots. They are working in the hospital home corner and they are building a hospital out of lego. They are also creating a bunting triangle all about themselves and including their fingerprints on them.

Kim the physio's visit.

Kim, mum of Sam in 4th and Ben in 5th came to visit us today. She brought Bertha her baby and a model spine with her. She told us all about her job as a children's physiotherapist and showed us some of the exercises she does with the children. She answered lots of tricky questions from junior and senior infants!

Aistear week 20/1/14

This week, the children are building their own dental surgery from jaggo blocks. They are making superhero masks and timelines. They are role-playing in the opticians in the home corner and building an opticians from lego.

Science in junior infants!



Junior infants had a real treat today! Joshua's dad, Nigel, who works in TCD, brought some science experiments to our classroom! It was very exciting and a lot of fun!! Thank you to Nigel who put a lot of thought and preparation into all he showed us! He may have inspired some future scientists!!!

Aistear week 13/1/14

This week the infants are role playing at the dentists in the home corner. They are building a dental surgery from lego. They are building a doctors surgery from jaggo blocks. They are making a senses booklet and cutting out pictures of food to make a food pyramid.

Aistear week 6/1/14

Our bodies: This week, the children in Junior and Senior Infants are creating their own skeletons. They are role-playing at the doctor's surgery and building a surgery out of lego. They are building an ambulance from jaggo blocks and learning about their senses. They are tasting different flavours such as bitter lemons and salty crisps. They are smelling different smells such as soap and toothpaste. They are touching items in a feely box and describing all the things they touch, taste and smell.
